Asbestos Management
The Law says that every business premises in the country has a legal obligation
to manage the asbestos that is, or might be, in its premises.
There are no exceptions, no matter how large or how small or what they do,
all premises which are non-domestic, must comply. This applies also to the
common parts of multiple occupancy domestic properties and is the Landlords
responsibility. The results must be documented and shown to anyone who has
to perform any work task in the premises and who otherwise might damage or
be affected by the asbestos. If any asbestos containing material is found or
suspected then a decision must be made as to its condition and how to deal
with it safely. Whatever the decision, the management of that asbestos must
be regular and in writing.
